2015: Longest chilli
Result of the Sea Spring Seeds' "Longest Chilli" competition
The Sea Spring Seeds' Longest chilli competition in 2015 was won by Simon Suter from Surrey.
The chilli fruit was 38.8 cm long
The variety Simon grew for the competition was a Spaghetti chilli plant. The fruit of this variety starts to dry (and contract in size) at the end before the stalk end is ripe, so Simon wisely measured his longest fruit when the tip was just starting to turn red and the rest was still green.
Measurement was from the end of the calyx to the tip.
