Daucus carota

Hybrid.  A great forcing variety for overwintering inside a tunnel, greenhouse or cloche – you can even grow a crop successfully under fleece. The roots are quick growing and colour up at a very early stage, which means they can be harvested very young as baby carrots when they are exceptionally tender and sweet with virtually have no core. When allowed to grow larger the roots produce a very high quality crop with an excellent flavour.

The green tops are large, strong (so can be hand pulled) and healthy, making this an excellent variety for bunching.

Seeds can be sown in October and grown under cover for harvesting by the end of May. Alternatively, sowing can be made from November to February for summer harvests.
