Coriander var. Santos
Coriander is a short-lived annual herb that is indispensable in Asian, Chinese and Mexican cooking.
Unlike many coriander varieties, Santos has a high degree of bolt resistance, and is excellent for leaf production. The leaves have a strong coriander flavour, and the stalks grow upright, making them easy to harvest. Leaves can be picked at any stage in a cut-and-grow-again system. When the stems start to bolt all parts of the elongated stem can still be eaten.
Seeds should be sown 'a little and often' outdoors from mid-spring to late summer for a continuous harvest. In milder areas it can also be over-wintered in a tunnel or greenhouse. It must be grown in full sun, and should always be well watered. The leaves can be harvested at any stage under a cut-and-come-again system.
