Description
EXTREME HEAT
Dorset Naga belongs to the group of chillies called “Superhots”, which are the hottest chillies in the world, capable of reaching a million Scoville Heat Units and more. The fresh chillies of Dorset Naga have a scorching heat that is combined with a distinctive, very pleasant fruity aroma, making this a truly exceptional chilli. The wrinkled, wedge-shaped fruit ripen from green to red; the heat level also increases as the fruit ripen.
The fruit can be up to 30 x 50mm in size, but are often smaller; 250g of Dorset Naga is normally about 40-60 fruit.
Heat level: It is natural for the heat level of chillies to vary between fruit, between plants, and between different growing conditions, sites and seasons. We have our Dorset Naga fruit heat tested most years, getting a crop average heat by taking one fruit from many plants. Results range between 900,000 and 1.3 million SHU. BBC Gardeners’ World did a chilli trial where they tested a single Dorset Naga fruit that measured 1.6 million SHU.
Please note: We now ONLY have red fruit.
