Tendamesh

Description

Tendamesh a very light (around 20g/m2), soft mesh that is used to control most insect, mammal and bird pests by acting as a physical barrier that prevents the pests from reaching the crop. Because the mesh is so light it is suitable for using on delicate crops.

Protects against:

• Flea Beetle (except with high populations)
• Aphids
• Allium Leaf Miners
• Butterflies/caterpillars
• Thrips
• Pigeons
• Rabbits
• Deer

Always cover the crop immediately after transplanting or sowing a crop. The mesh does not stretch so sufficient slack must be allowed for crop growth. Plants should be inspected to ensure they are free from insect pests before they are covered. It is advisable to protect any seedlings that are grown for transplanting.

When covering always ensure there are no gaps where pests can get through. Tendamesh works by providing a physical barrier, if there are gaps it won’t do the job.

Note: The mesh does not protect from pests that emerge from the soil. Do not grow crops on land that has grown an infected crop previously.

Secure the tendamesh with tri-pegs or ground staples.

Tendamesh can also be used to screen glasshouse doors and vents to exclude insects.
