Dwarf Green Curled
Brassica oleracea Acephala Group
An old variety that has proven its worth over the years. The plants are genuinely dwarf (they verge on being cute) and have curly, frilled leaves that are dark green. The short stature makes the plants wind resistant and easily netted for protection from pigeons and other pests. The yields are lower than they are for taller varieties, so the plants should be grown closer together to compensate – 30 x 30cm should be enough.
