Brassica rapa Pekinensis Group

Hybrid. A bolt-resistant Chinese cabbage producing nicely-blanched heads that are crunchy and mild tasting. Plants can be left to develop full-sized heads, or they can be harvested for cut-and-come-again crops. Like all Chinese cabbages, Apex is susceptible to slugs, which can be controlled by using either parasitic nematodes or pellets.

Sow from June to August for outside crops, and in September for overwintering in tunnels and greenhouses. Start the seeds in modular trays, transplanting the seedlings to leave about 30cm between them each way.
