A sweet banana type from Eastern Europe with elongated, tapering fruit that measure about 4 x 16cm. The fruit change from light green to red as they mature, and the flesh is medium thick, pleasingly sweet and mildly flavoured. Their yield potential is impressive: in 2015 we picked an average of 26 fruit on plants grown in 7.5 litre pots. The plants were just 55cm tall, which makes the harvests even more remarkable.
Though it is from Eastern Europe, Semorah is a credible substitute for Çarliston biber, one of the standard peppers used in Turkish cooking. Other peppers from Turkey that we sell include the chilli Sivri Biber (mildly hot) and the sweet dolma biber (which we sell as Turkish Dolma).
