A reliable, bolt-resistant variety of beetroot that is easy to grow producing round, deep burgundy  roots.

Beta vulgaris

Boltardy is a popular beetroot variety that is reliable and bolt-resistant. It can be sown earlier in the year than many other varieties and is a dependable producer of globe-shaped roots that have a deep burgundy colour.

Sow in modules under cover beginning in March, then transplant outdoors when the roots of the seedlings fill the cell. Alternatively, direct sow the seed outside from late March onwards. For continuity of supply, make monthly sowings until July.
