This really is something different:  a beetroot with an elongated root that makes making uniform slices easy!

Description

Beta vulgaris

This really is something different: a beetroot with elongated roots that are more or less the same thickness along their whole length. This means they are a cook’s dream, producing uniform slices with almost the same diameter all the way along.

Like other beetroots, Forono can be either sown directly into the ground or multi-seeded in modular trays and then transplanted. However, Forono is not bolt-resistant, with cold conditions triggering the bolting response. So put off sowing until the weather warms up in late spring and early summer.
