Vicia faba

A versatile, long-podded variety that can be sown either in November or in the spring. With a November sowing, harsh weather may challenge the production of a good crop, though the reward is an earlier harvest of beans. 

Sowing in the spring gives later harvests, but the growing conditions are gentler and more likely to give satisfactory yields.  Aquadulce Claudia grows into tall plants, so it is not the best variety for small gardens or exposed sites. However, the flexibility of sowing dates more than makes up for that.
