Description

Capsicum chinense

Known as ‘seasoning pepper’ in the Caribbean, this habanero is full of flavour but almost heatless. The fruit ripen from light green to red and measure about 2.5 x 4cm when full size. The flesh is thick and juicy, and can be added to salads, used to flavour sauces and stuffed with cheese for party snacks.

Plants are medium tall and can be grown in the ground or pots 7.5 to 10 litres in size. They’ll need some support to stay upright as the fruit develop.

Heat level: very mild (approx. 700 SHU)
