Description
Capsicum chinense
A Ghanaian habanero with lobed, flattened fruit that are a mere 2cm in diameter. Traditionally used when young and green, the fruit mature to orange and then red, at which point they are very hot.
The plants are tidy, compact bushes that can be grown unsupported in 1 to 5 litre pots. They are covered with fruit that hang from the branches like tiny apples.
Cheeky comes from the Ghanaian landrace chilli known as kpakpo shito. Sea Spring Seeds sells three selections from kpakpo shito; the others being Raindrop and Pettie Belle.
