Description

Spice-type chillies are generally small-fruited and thin-fleshed, and are generally hotter than the vegetable chillies. They are used to add heat and flavour to a dish, but contribute very little bulk.

As spice-type chillies are thin-fleshed they are the easiest type of chilli to dry, and can be stored as dried chillies or milled into a powder. Some varieties are also very colourful and attractive and are excellent an ‘edible ornamental’ house plant.
