Description
Capsicum annuum
A colourful chilli that brightens up a conservatory, greenhouse or sunny windowsill. The stems are drenched in purple; while the variegated leaves are decorated with blotches of green, purple, pink and white. Bright purple flowers morph into small, oval-shaped fruit that measure 1.2 x 2.5cm. The fruit hang down like ornaments and turn from deep purple to red as they ripen. But don’t be fooled by Calico’s beauty – its very hot fruit can satisfy even the most demanding chilli head.
The well-proportioned plants grow a respectable 35cm high and 25cm wide in 1 litre pots. You can use larger pots up to 5 litres in size, giving the plants a chance to grow bigger.
Heat level: Very hot (approx. 70,000 SHU).
