Capsicum annuum

Cayennetta is a bushy variety with a tidy growth habit that is very suitable for growing in both smallish and large containers. The plants produce plenty of elongated fruit that hang down. They are thin-fleshed (so are good for drying) and are about 70 – 75mm long. The fruit turn from green to red as they ripen and are a manageable heat that is not over-the-top hot for even timid chilli users.

As chillies go, this variety is easy and dependable to grow. All things considered, this is an excellent choice for gardeners new to chilli growing.

This variety is similar to the very popular chilli variety called Apache. Like Apache, Cayennetta is easy to grow and produces compact, attractive plants that do well in small pots. The fruit are a little larger than Apache, but are generally a similar shape and flavour. However, Cayennetta fruit are much milder than Apache so are suitable for anyone who does not like very hot chillies.
