A stunning example of chillies at their most colourful. Purple-tinged leaves are complemented by deep purple flowers that develop into sparkling purple fruit. The fruit put on a dramatic display of colours as they ripen from purple to yellow, then orange and finally red. They are cone-shaped and small, measuring about 12 x 25mm. But don’t let their size and looks deceive you – they have plenty of heat and are excellent in any dish that needs spicing up.
The upright plants are medium tall and can be grown without support. You can keep them in pots as small as 1 litre in volume, but for bigger plants, then 2 to 5 litre pots are better.
Heat level: hot (approx. 47,000 SHU)
