Capsicum annuum

Pencil cayenne chilli
A plant of Pencil in a 1 litre pot. This variety produces high yields in surprisingly small pots.

Bred by Sea Spring Seeds, Pencil is distinguished by pointed, elongated cayenne chillies that measure about 12 x 90mm, and hang down from the branches. The fruit ripen from yellowish green to red, at which point they are very hot.

The plants grow upright and do well in 7.5 to 10 litre pots, though we’ve had good results with pots as small as 1 litre.

Heat level: very hot (approx. 52,000 SHU)

Pencil is very similar in appearance to another variety we sell called Pencil Cayenne. However, the fruit of Pencil are twice as hot.
