Description
Capsicum annuum
A very hot, eye-catching cayenne chilli whose pointed, lilac fruit mature to a purple-tinged red. The fruit are about 7.5cm long and hang from plants decorated with dark stems and purple flowers. They are thin-fleshed and can be dried or used fresh in curries and sauces.
The sprawling, medium tall plants have an open growth habit and need support to stay upright. They can be grown both in the ground and in pots 5 to 10 litres in size.
