Description

Capsicum annuum

Rosemary Chilli fruit
Rosemary Chilli is a very attractive Turkish chilli.

An attractive and prolific chilli from Turkey, where it is used to make pickles. The erect, cone-shaped fruit measure about 1.7 x 4.6cm. They mature from yellow to red, and are hot when red.

To make pickles the Turkish way, the fruit should be harvested at the immature yellow stage, when the seeds are still soft. Otherwise, wait until the fruit ripen, and use them fresh in curries, chutneys and sauces.

The plants should be grown in the ground or pots 5 to 10 litres in size, where they will develop into tidy, upright shrubs that are medium tall. Given the plant size and fruit load, some support is needed to prevent them from falling over.

Rosemary is part of our collection of Turkish peppers that includes Sivri Biber, Aci Kil, Turkish Dolma, and Turkish Delight.

Heat level: Medium (approx. 26,000 SHU)
