Heat level: very mild
(approx. 170 SHU)
Description
Capsicum annuum
The delicious, almost heatless fruit of this Spanish import turn from green to red as they mature. When eaten red, the thick flesh has a silky smooth texture and moreish sweet taste seldom matched by any other pepper.
The fruit are cone-shaped and medium-sized, measuring about 5 x 11cm. They are encased in an inedible tough skin that must be peeled off after grilling or blow torching. The bushy, erect plants are good yielders when grown in large pots around 7.5 to 10 litres in size.
Heat level: very mild (approx. 170 SHU)
