Thai Pumpkin

Description

Capsium annuum

Its name says it all: a Thai chilli shaped like a pumpkin. The hot, thick-fleshed fruit are flattened and strongly ribbed. They measure about 4cm in diameter and ripen from green to red. Their shape and size make them ideal receptacles for stuffing, but they can also be sliced up and used in any dish where heat is required. 

The bushy, medium tall plants will do well in 7.5 litre pots, though some support must be provided to keep them from falling over.
