Climbing growth habit
Description
Phaseolus vulgaris
A vintage climbing French bean with tasty green pods. For eating fresh, the pods are best harvested at a length of 13 to 14cm, when they are tender and have a nice ‘full’ flavour.
Pods left on the plants become tan, tough, and parchment-like, while the seeds inside swell and turn white. Once the seeds are dried, they make a useful haricot bean great for adding to soups, stews and salads. Blue Lake is truly a dual purpose variety.
Approximate number of seeds per pack: 50
