A remarkable variety of basil producing huge, blistered leaves with an anise flavour. Excellent in salads and sauces, the leaves are so big they can be wrapped around sticks of cheese or vegetables for a different type of starter.
A short-lived annual that is sensitive to frost, basil does well in pots. It can be sown any time from late spring to summer in a tunnel, greenhouse, conservatory or on a sunny windowsill.
