Tom Thumb

A diminutive, quick maturing lettuce that is perfect for a small servings.

Lactuca sativa

Diminutive, quick maturing lettuce that produce perfect miniature heads surrounded by a prostrate rosette of outside leaves (just about 15cm across). Though they look like a small butterhead lettuce, they have a cos texture that is crisp and juicy. This is an old variety that got a mention in the 1909 edition of Thompson’s Gardener’s Assistant. It was probably a good variety then, and it is certainly a good one now.
