A light green mustard distinguished by deeply cut frilly leaves in an upright rosette.
Description
Brassica juncea
A light green mustard distinguished by deeply cut frilly leaves that are as attractive to look at as they are great to eat. The leaves grow upright from a rosetted base, and can be picked of individually. They have a firm texture and can be used both in stir fries and salads.
Outdoor crops are better adapted to late spring and summer sowings, when they take longer to bolt. Likewise, the plants can be overwintered in a tunnel or greenhouse from an early autumn sowing.
Note: Mustards can be quite pungent, especially when eaten raw. Their pungency, however, differs considerably depending on growing conditions, plant part and age of the plant.
