Red Giant

£1.50

A broad-leafed mustard with blistered leaves highlighted in red.

Description

Brassica juncea

A more or less traditional mustard with broad, blistered leaves highlighted in red. Left to grow, the leaves become big and bold and are a tasty addition to stir fries. They are also ideal for salads when harvested at a smaller, and more tender, size.

Like other mustards, Red Giant should be sown mid to late spring for outdoor crops, and early autumn for an overwintered crop in a tunnel or greenhouse.

Note: Mustards can be quite pungent, especially when eaten raw. Their pungency, however, differs considerably depending on growing conditions, plant part and age of the plant.
