Description
Allium cepa
A well-known salad onion variety that is reliable and fast growing, producing long white stems and dark green tops. Crops can be sown throughout the spring and summer and harvested at any age, as they stay tender and mild over a long period. Regular sowings will ensure a constant supply of salad onions throughout the growing season.
Early sowings can be left to produce bulbs and eaten as fresh, cooking onions.
Absolutely delicious in salads and stir fries. They are also a common ingredient in Thai and other ethnic dishes.
