Hybrid. A variety of komatsuna that produces broad, upright leaves that can be used at any stage of growth. Very good in salads when picked young, Green Boy is outstanding as a cooked vegetable when grown to full size. It is delicious stir fried with garlic and oyster sauce, and is especially valuable in the winter when home-grown leaves are scarce.
Sow from late spring to late summer for outdoor crops, or grow overwinter in a tunnel or greenhouse.
