Hybrid. A lovely bi-coloured mizuna with deeply cut leaves that are red on the top and a contrasting green underneath. Leaves can be picked at any age, from the baby leaf stage right up to full size when the blades can be 20cm long. However, when plants are allowed to grow to full size the leaf stalks can get tough and should be removed before eating.

Red Knight is a pleasant tasting mustard relative that adds both texture and colour to summer and winter salads. The leaves are also great stir fried, though the lovely purple colour disappears with cooking.

Sow outdoor crops from late spring to late summer sowings, or overwinter in a tunnel or greenhouse from an early autumn sowing.
