Mizuna var. Kyoto
£2.00
A mild-flavoured leafy mizuna with large leaves that are broader and leafier than normal mizuna.
Description
Brassica rapa Japonica Group
A mild-flavoured leafy mizuna producing rosettes of deeply cut, feathery leaves with relatively broad midribs. The plants are much leafier and more bolt-resistant than the more common variety sold just as “mizuna”. Left to grow to full size the plants produce large, impressive, mop-top loose heads good for a once-over cutting. Alternatively, they are ideal for cut-and-grow-again when they can be harvested from baby-leaf stage right up to full size.
Like most of the Oriental leaves, Koyoto Mizuna is excellent in both salads and stir fries.
Sow from May to August for outdoor crops, and in September for overwintering in tunnels and greenhouses. Leave 30cm spacing between plants if producing full-sized heads, growing the plants somewhat closer together for cut-and-grow-again crops.
Approx. number of seeds per pack: 400
