Pak choi var. Yang Qing Choi

£2.50

A superb, green stemmed pak choi that is very bolt-resistant.

Description

Brassica rapa Chinensis Group

Hybrid. A high quality, green-stemmed pak choi that is very bolt resistant.

This superb pak choi has green leaves with prominent, almost white veins and  midrib, and thick, light green stems. It is short-statured, and when full sized forms very compact, bulky hearts.

Plants can be allowed to grow to full size for an impressive one-time harvest, or leaves can be removed individually under a cut-and-grow-again harvesting regime.

Yang Qing Choi is smaller statured than the white-stemmed, tall growing Joi Choi (which we also sell); and is equally versatile in the kitchen, delicious in salads, or just stir fried with a little bit of oyster sauce.

Sow from June to August for outside crops, and in September/October for overwintering in tunnels and greenhouses. Start the seeds in modular trays, and transplant the seedlings, about 20cm apart, when roots have filled their cells.

Approx. number of seeds per pack: 50
