Description
Phaseolus coccineus
Firestorm, is a superb runner bean, with bright, bold red flowers and high yields. Like its sister variety, Snowstorm, Firestorm has had some French bean genes bred into it, which – it is claimed – improves pod quality and helps with pod set.
To get the best quality pods, harvest the beans young when they are sweet, tender and stringless. In the case of Firestorm, this is when the pods are about 20 to 25cm long.
