Description
Phaseolus coccineus
This is a high yielding runner bean variety is the result of a UK breeding programme. The plants have a smattering of French bean genes which have improved the quality of the pods.
Snowstorm has pure white flowers that develop into long, flat pods with a smooth, refined skin. The quality and flavour of the beans are excellent – and if the pods are harvested around 20 to 25cm long will be stringless. If you are not a fan of runner beans, Snowstorm might just change your mind.
As an added bonus, the Royal Horticultural Society’s vegetable trials committee commented that Snowstorm is especially good for the show bench.
