Who would have thought it – a sweet pepper that looks like a chilli. Bred by Sea Spring Seeds, Joker is visibly indistinguishable from Spike, a very hot chilli pepper that we also bred.
The short, compact plants produce dozens, if not hundreds, of thin elongated fruit with a very sharp tip. They do well in small pots, 1 to 3 litres in size, and are so attractive would look really nice on a sunny windowsill or in a conservatory.
OK, we admit that Joker is a bit of a gimmick. But in our defence, it is the perfect variety if you want the attractiveness of an ornamental chilli, but don’t want the heat.
