Description

Solanum lycopersicum

A good-tasting cooking tomato with a thick, red flesh and a tender, red skin streaked in yellow. The fruit are rectangular-shaped and grow to a decent size, measuring about 5 x 9.5cm and weighing about 140g each.

The fruit have very few seeds and make great sauces. They are also superb either fried or roasted, and unlike other cooking tomatoes, are good enough to eat fresh in salads and sandwiches.

An American heirloom that should be given full British citizenship.

Indeterminate (cordon) growth habit.
