Description
Solanum lycopersicum
Hybrid. A modern day classic that has been a firm favourite of gardeners for years. The fruit are small and round, measuring up to 30mm in diameter. They ripen to a bright orange, and have a juicy, sweet flesh. The only downside is that the fruit have a tendency to split when over-ripe.
Sungold is one of the earliest tomato varieties to ripen, and plants continue producing well into the autumn. If you fancy growing tomatoes outdoors, this is a good variety to try.
