Hybrid. Wow! Sweet Lightning certainly lives up to its name – it is honey sweet and has flashy good looks. The flattened, orange-mottled fruit are small-sized and measure about 11cm in diameter (just right for one or two people). They have very good storage potential and can last well into February. The plants are highly productive and, with only a 2.0m spread, they won’t take over a garden.
If you are partial to a sweet winter squash, then this is a good one to try.
